Overture

What is musical theatre?

Musical theatre tells a story through song, spoken dialogue, acting and dance together. When a character's feelings grow too big for words, they sing; when the music takes over, they dance.

From the operettas and music halls of the nineteenth century to Broadway and the West End today, it is one of the most popular forms of live performance in the world.
